Build a Reliable Tree Farm in One Block
Wood supports almost every early One Block project, from storage to shelter. A tree farm turns a lucky sapling drop into a continuing supply, but the setup needs more thought than placing dirt beside the void. Your main goals are to give the tree room and keep its drops within reach. Exact growing requirements depend on the tree type.
Keep your first sapling safe
Store a sapling as soon as you can spare one. Avoid placing your only growing spot directly against the island edge. Build enough floor around it to catch falling items, and leave a comfortable approach for harvesting. If your map offers several tree types, begin with one whose space requirements you understand rather than using every sapling at once.
Leave room above and around the tree
Do not build a low roof over the planting area. Separate the farm from your house and important walkways so leaves and trunks do not block daily movement. If a sapling will not grow, inspect the available space and lighting, then check the requirements for that species. Bone meal is useful when available, but it does not replace a suitable planting area.
Harvest over a collection platform
Cut the trunk from a stable position and watch where drops land. Let leaves clear while you work nearby, then gather saplings and other items before leaving the area. Avoid chopping the tree while carrying your entire supply of rare materials. A simple flat floor with a protected perimeter makes collection easier than a decorative farm with gaps beneath the canopy.
Replant before spending the harvest
Put the next sapling in place, keep spare wood for tools and repairs, and only then allocate logs to larger builds. Add another growing spot when demand increases. A small, dependable farm can support steady expansion; a huge plantation is unnecessary if its trees make your base difficult to navigate. Build around the amount of wood you actually use.
